Crunching underfoot softly, the grass smells almost like hay does. The paddocks are a patchwork of dry, too far gone and pockets of shade that have helped some lucky strands cling to their green.

The hills seem to roll on forever. The wind accelerates through the valley and up the ridge to the farmhouse that is now filled with the smells of spring. We sit at the window in anticipation, waiting for the dark clouds to move in, pushed by the strong North Westerlies and heavy with much-needed rain.
